Few electronic acts have left as indelible a mark on the global dance music scene as Above & Beyond. For a quarter of a century, Jono Grant, Paavo Siljamäki, and Tony McGuinness have fostered a community that transcends the dance floor—one built on connection, unity, and shared experiences. Now, as they mark 25 years in the industry, the trio is set to release their fifth studio album, Bigger Than All Of Us, on July 18 via Anjunabeats.
The first single, ‘Quicksand (Don’t Go)’, featuring longtime collaborator Zoë Johnston, is slated for release this Friday, offering a first glimpse into what promises to be an emotionally charged and sonically expansive project.
A Journey of Reconnection
If Common Ground (2018) was about bringing people together, Bigger Than All Of Us is about rediscovering that connection. The album, seven years in the making, reflects on the evolution of Above & Beyond’s musical journey and the relationships that have formed around their sound.
“There are songs on here that have stood the test of time in our little world and have had a new life breathed into them,” the group shares. “But they’re classic Above & Beyond songs, and we think they speak to the worldwide effect we’ve been lucky to be a part of.”
Since their last studio album, the trio has kept fans engaged with a diverse range of projects. From the ambient, meditative Flow State (2019), which amassed over 400 million streams, to club-driven tracks under the Tranquility Base alias, Above & Beyond have continuously evolved while maintaining their signature emotive sound.
Beyond group efforts, each member has also explored personal creative endeavors. Grant partnered with Daren Tate for the 2022 synthwave-infused JODA album, while Siljamäki revived his P.O.S. moniker for the 2023 dancefloor-focused Deeper Tales. McGuinness, in turn, revisited earlier songwriting gems with his deeply personal project Salt.
The Legacy Continues
Despite their individual pursuits, the heart of Above & Beyond remains the same: a dedication to creating music that brings people together. Their label empire—Anjunabeats, Anjunadeep, and the newly introduced Anjunachill—continues to cultivate emerging talent, while their weekly Group Therapy radio show serves as a sonic meeting place for fans worldwide.
With Bigger Than All Of Us, the trio pays homage to the power of collective experience. “This album is us appreciating how amazing this thing we have is,” they reflect. “It’s not about any of us individually. When we all work together to make something happen, something bigger happens.”
As they step into this milestone year, Above & Beyond continue to prove that their music is more than just beats and melodies—it’s a shared journey, bigger than all of us.
