We chat with Faye McCann, founder of Faye Mac Consultancy, https://www.fayemac.com about how we can stand out online in 2026.
Faye, for readers who are just discovering you: how would you describe what you do in one sentence?
I mentor business owners and support them with growing, scaling and making more money.
You’ve built a consultancy that spans multiple continents, with speaking engagements from Miami to Dubai. What’s been the biggest lesson you’ve learned about scaling a business globally and not playing small?
In terms of scaling a business owner globally, the biggest lesson I have learned is to be bold and to take risks. Playing it small and safe will truly only get you so far in business, a lot of what I have done to expand into other areas has been risky. Bravery plays a key part in scaling a business, reaching out to people for connections, joining masterminds, investing in opportunities have all played a part in taking my business global.
So many business owners feel invisible online. What’s the number one mistake you see them making with their social media presence?
Business owners that feel invisible, are simply not making themselves seen enough. The mistakes I see them making are presuming people are not first time viewers. Putting out reels, regularly introducing yourself, and your services are fundamental as you never truly know who is watching your every move. Business owners are not checking their statistics or assessing what is working for them, so they are not doubling down on the right visibility strategy for them, it is not a one size fits all.
You’ve scaled your own companies to seven figures.
The moment things really shifted with me being a seven figure business owner, was when I realized that the results truly are up to me. There are billions of people in the world, many of them could buy from me, and I really have to hold myself accountable in terms of the results I bring into the business. Scaling is a non negotiable, visibility is non negotiable and as soon as I realized it was all on me, things really started to scale. Delegating and bringing staff in is smart, but there has to be a driver leading from the front.
You run immersive retreats and events, including trips to Thailand. Why do you believe in-person experiences are still so powerful in a digital-first world?
In person events and immersive retreats are so powerful because they are completely from the digital-first world. The attendees are not just getting the strategy, learning and education but are also getting a break from their reality as well as cultural experiences. The harmony and balance of relaxing, exploring, enjoying experiences and teaming it up with the education needed to push forward created a magical mix. It creates something special, and a huge motivation and surge forward. Often people can see more results from 3 days away, than a month of joining programs online. It is almost like a fast track to success.
Do you think the way we do business in the US differs compared to the UK? How?
I think people in the US are more straightforward and straight-talking than business owners in the UK. There is less small talk, and pleasantries and more getting down to business. US business owners are more forthcoming in asking for payments, and delivering higher prices without fear.
What advice would you give to a US-based entrepreneur who wants to build a stronger personal brand on social media like you have but doesn’t know where to start?
If I spoke to a US based entrepreneur who wants to build a stronger personal brand within their business I would tell them to create a simple visibility strategy that works for them, concentrating on a primary and secondary platform. Do not try to do too many things at once, it really will not pay off in the long run. Some simple targets in place for personal brand, such as putting out a reel every day, interacting with followers, introducing yourself once per week and multiple carousels. Trying to do everything will only create burnout.
What’s next for Faye Mac Consultancy — what should people be watching out for?
